Finally, the future comes on Sunday January 2008, when  The Future.. Awards, stakes centre stage. Oganisers of the awards,  which is  the first major event in the country this year, have  unveiled plans to make this year’s event pure magic!

According to the organizers, “We are proud indeed to inform you that all is most definitely set for the third edition what we now know as the nation’s biggest Awards for young people working with event heavyweights, Zaphairre Events, Storm Media, and
Exclusive Styling. Transforming the hall with our national colours, is one of the nation’s best, Simply Reene, the impressive stage courtesy of Total Consult and the venue will be fully secured by Corporate Guards.

Catering will be handled by the duo of Twelve Baskets and Roving Pepper, Le Saison will be dishing out the world’s best pastry, and Bonix will welcome the guests with cocktail unto the endless stretch of red carpet.

This will be a red carpet like no other with a quartet led by violinist, Et Cetera serenading the guests in true Hollywood fashion as they present their passport-style Invitations.

Performers at this year’s event include Sasha, Lara George, and last year’s hit dance performers, Explicit. And it gets better! Sultry diva, Yinka Davies, working with an orchestra led by Cobams Asuquo gives a show-stopping performance of one of her classics, while there will be a surprise rendition of the hit track by former girl group, KUSH, Let’s Live Together. And of course, guests from last year’s edition will certainly be waiting for an even bigger version of The Future... Awards trademark, the National Anthem Special.

The style code is: a hint of green. Anchoring the event are two of Nigeria’s exports to Hollywood, Actor Raz Adoti and TV Presenter and now film director, Kemi Adetiba, with a surprise third anchor to be unveiled at the venue of the event.

Handling the interact session are two of Nigeria’s brightest TV personalities Cool FM’s Gbemi Olateru and Nigezie’s Ill. Guests from outside Lagos flown in via Virgin Nigeria will be lodged at the Protea Hotels, Bogobiri House and Reliance Suites. The event’s keynote address will be given by Mrs. Oby Ezekwesili, World Bank Vice-President for Africa; joining other special guests including the Ministers for Youth, and for Education.

The judging process ended last week, and the list of the finalists and that of the winners will be unveiled to the guests at the venue of the event, The Muson Center, on Sunday, 13th January 2008
