MTN Xtraconnect Bring Hope to Orphans

In a season where corporate bodies are busy rolling out promotions driven by selfish interest and the profit motive, Nigeria’s leading telecommunications company, MTN Nigeria through its Family and Friends platform, MTN Xtraconnect, is paying Christmas visits to several Orphanages around the country.

In Lagos, the telecoms giant extended its benevolence to the society through its Xtraconnect brand by visiting the Heart of Gold Orphanage at Surulere and the Lagos State Motherless Babies Home, Lekki. Lots of Gift was presented to the orphanages to cater for the Christmas Celebration. This way the MTN Xtraconnect platform which is a family brand is ensuring that every member of the society enjoys the festive season including the orphans who have no one to cater for them.

Speaking with journalists during the visit to the Lagos State Motherless babies Home, Lekki, the Marketing Manager, Lagos Region, MTN Nigeria, Mrs. Titi Olubiyi said that MTN intends to bring hope to the less privileged, and ensure that they are not left out of the joy of Christmas.

“Our visit to the Motherless babies’ Home is a project that is very dear to our heart. Today we visited one on the mainland, which is called the Heart of Gold Orphanage at Surulere, and then we visited another one on the Island at Lekki off admiralty way which is being managed by the Lagos State Government. We wanted them to know that they are also part of the community. They shouldn’t be left behind in all the fun and celebration that comes with this festive season” she said.

Titi further disclosed that each Orphanage received as much as ten bags of rice, five cartons of oil, Bournvita, Peak Milk and lots of toys for the children to play with during this festive season. She also said that the MTN Xtraconnect brand will be hosting families to an exciting Christmas party on Christmas day at the LTV 8 grounds, in Agidingbi.

Over the years, MTN Nigeria has proved to be a responsible corporate citizen and has made positive impact virtually in every aspect of people’s lives; this act of benevolence has shown that it is the industry leader in every aspect of corporate practice.

MTN XtraConnect Christmas carnival, which is being driven by its family-friendly XtraConnect package, is a time set aside by the company to show appreciation to its numerous customers and the society at large for their patronage during the year in the spirit of the Yuletide season.
