The Ogun State Government has praised IBTC Chartered Bank Plc. for its investment in the development of young leaders in Nigeria and across Africa. At a special session of the Gateway Future Leaders Forum at the 3rd Ogun State Economic and Investment Summit in Abeokuta, the state Commissioner for Finance, Mr Kehinde Sogunle, said the bank’s efforts have significantly impacted wealth generation.

He added, “Ogun State Government appreciates the support from IBTC Chartered Bank‘s sponsorship of the special session of the Gateway Future Leaders Forum. It shows that the bank is a good corporate citizen that has made good on its pledge to create, not just material wealth, but also human wealth across the continent.”

He described investment in the development of young talent as the best any society can make because a nation’s wealth is a reflection of the quality of its leadership.

At the event, Mr. Wole Akinleye, Regional Coordinator, South West, IBTC Chartered Bank said that the bank became involved with the Summit and decided to sponsor the Gateway Future Leaders Forum because of its commitment to encouraging human wealth creation and excellence among young people.

According to him, “As an African Bank with world class spirit, the enlarged IBTC Chartered Bank is committed to developing quality leadership. By raising the standard of human capital, we can solve the problems of underdevelopment in Africa.”

He reminded the young leaders that IBTC Chartered Bank decided to support them because of the intrinsic talents they clearly possessed. He said that the bank believes that such people, if nurtured early enough, will add value to this country and the continent in the nearest future.

Mr Obayomi Adeleke, a bio-technologist and member of the Gateway Future Leaders Forum, thanked IBTC Chartered Bank for setting the pace in leadership training and nurturing young talents.

He said “We are grateful to IBTC Chartered Bank for this unprecedented support. The bank’s investment in leadership training has greatly encouraged us. We promise to live up to the challenges of leading Nigeria and Africa to growth and development”.

The two-day 3rd Ogun State Economic and Investment Summit was graced by such eminent personalities as Governor Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State; Hon Demola Bankole, Speaker of the House of Representatives; Mr Donald Duke, former Governor of Cross River State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory among others.
