Kanye, T Pain, Top Naija Acts for Star Mega Jam

Two reputable and award winning international artistes, Kanye West, an American multiple Grammy Award winner and best record seller, whose first name is interpreted to mean “the only one” in Swahili and T Pain, currently rated the hottest act in R & B on the international music bloc, have been confirmed to headline popular artistes, to perform at this year’s edition of the Star Mega Jam concert, the biggest international music event in the country, which comes up in Lagos and Abuja on December 14 and 15, 2007.

And top Nigerian artistes, named to perform, have commenced intensive rehearsals towards guaranteeing a swell time for music lovers. They are bent on giving the visiting foreign acts good run for their artistry and international exposures with rigorous rehearsals to show off the stuffs they are made off and create lasting impression on music lovers.

Nigerian king of Rap, Ruggedman, who spoke about his preparedness for the show shortly after a rehearsal session with his band gave kudos to the the host company, Nigerian Breweries Plc for its efforts at creating and sustaining a show of international standard like the Star Mega Jam for popular Nigerian artistes to perform along side international superstars to assess and upgrade their stage craft: “I am sincerely happy to be part of the Star Mega Jam this year, Like we did it with Akon and LL Cool J, last year, I feel very proud to be doing it again this year. I think my performance last year was commendable. My challenge this year, is to better my performance. I’m working hard to give my best. You know there is something new about Ruggedman in the market called Ruggedy Baba. We are working towards dropping it like an explosive for every body to feel the impact.”

Faze, another celebrated Nigerian artiste of the Kolomental fame is squarly packaging new acts and some female sensational dancers for the show. Faze said his target is to overwhelm the expected large audience at this year’s Star Mega Jam. I don’t believe in too much talk.

I think the taste of the pudding is in the eating. I seriously believe that the Star Mega Jam this year is going to be one of its kind in history. I am very happy with the class of international artistes chosen for the show. I am sure we all have something to learn from one another on stage. I am warming up to give my best.”

Shola Idowu, a.k.a. Weird MC, vowed not only to re-enact her weird acts, but to make the show crazy. “This is going to be crazy. I am working and looking forward to it. For star and Star Mega Jam, there will be enough excitement for everybody as always. I think the show have come along way to become one of Nigerian’s favourite brand in the music industry. It is the most consistent and celebrated international concert in the country as at the moment. So any artiste that is favoured to perform at the show must have worked hard for it and can’t afford to disappoint the fans. So as the only female artiste on the bill, I think I have to work my ass out. It’s going to be crazy but I just have to prove a point. You know”.

Left with Peter Okoye of P-Square, the Star mega Jam promises to be a bombshell this year. “don’t forget, P-Square, as a group, is a show shaker, any day. We are going to be red hot. As you can see, we are the happening acts in hip-hop music. So we are sharpening our acts and coming up with more fascinating and well choreographed dance steps for the Star Mega Jam concert. We are very proud to be part of the show and to perform alongside top International artiste like the one and only Kanye West who is reputed for multiple awards in music on the international music scene. It is going to be a life long experience and we are asking all our numerous fans to be there to witness the show and watch P-Square live in brand new style. Vasco G’, lead singer of The Jewels and newest band of the Star Quest music championship informed that it is rare honour and privilege for the Jewels to be mounting the big station at Star Mega Jam this year.

“it is the biggest concert we are playing since winning the Star Quest music contest early this year and we won’t want to let ourselves down. We are working hard to make the Star Mega Jam this year, the beginning of history for the Jewels. We hope to come out red hot to give more than our best. We want all our admirers to expect brand new songs from our just completed album.”

The seasoned ‘gyration’ king, Tony Oneweek, is fully engaging his band every day of the week towards preparations to dazzle audience at Star Mega Jam this year. Tony, whose unique brand of music never seizes to gyrate fans, said there will be “no le le”from the moment he hits the stage till the final whistle. “I have come to know Star and Star Mega Jam as a brand that never create room for dull moments. So it is going to be non stop music from the moment I step on the big stage till I sign off. My music is unique and infectious and I’m the master. I know how to do it best to gyrate everybody. I’m always very delighted to play for Star Mega Jam. Nigerian Breweries is doing something great for the Nigeria music and I am proud to be associated with them.

Meanwhile, preparations have been geared up by the organizers, to ensure an itch free show. According to Mr, Chuma Igwe, Corporate Communications Adviser of NB Plc, at the press conference to announce this years hosting of Star Mega Jam, the 8th in the series, “security arrangements like you witnessed last, would be water tight and professionally executed. The brand has made entry into the concerts very easy and secured.” He said.

	about the stars they are trying but i want some one like t-pain to be part of it because i want to see him live onstage performing and followed by naijeezzy
