SINGER Nomoreloss became the third evictee in the on going television reality dance contest tagged Celebrity Takes 2, an initiative of Spirit of David being by Skye Bank Plc. After about seven weeks into the show that has pitched 10 celebrities against each other, Nomoreloss and his dance instructor were on Sunday voted out. Kunle Afolayan, son of renowned filmmaker, the late Ade Love Afolayan, was the second evictee in the show, billed to come to an end next month.

Tara Fela-Durotoye was the first to be evicted from the show that has become a television delight in the last couple of weeks. Had Nomoreloss according to comic Julius Agwu, a guest judge on the show, put up the kind of performance he did on Sunday, penultimate week, he would not have been voted out. Just like Afolayan and his dance instructor, Jennifer, Nomoreloss’s farewell dance at the eviction show last Sunday on the Nigerian Television Authority, NTA, was one of his best outings since the contest began.

The battle rages on between seven celebrities and their instructors, who appear resolved to remain in the show. However, Bryan and his instructor, Lovette, who have been the toast of all television viewers since the beginning of the show, did not impress last Sunday. His flexibility was still visible, but the concept of the dance, a contemporary African piece, was sadly missing. Designer Zizi Cardow would not seize to amaze. Her approach to the dance leaves no one in doubt that the delectable Zizi, is a top contender to the grand prize. Ice, her instructor, also deserves some commendation for his diligence and ability to manipulate the designer who started the show as a stiff-legged person.

Naija Ninja Sound Sultan continues to wow viewers across the globe with his unique costumes and dance steps. Unlike last week when he appeared like a magician in a circus show, Sultan and his instructor, Lillian, climbed the stage last Sunday dressed like Chinese Ninja warriors. They both did justice to the contemporary African dance piece. Funlola Aifoyebi accepted the judges’ decision last week that she did not do well on stage, so her outing last Sunday was a way of telling the judges that she had indeed worked hard.

The actress and television presenter alongside her partner, Bimbo, were at home in the African dance piece. Simply put, Funlola danced with her soul, a development that made her outing deep and inspiring, according to Segun Lawal, the head judge. Miss Nigeria Omowunmi Akinifesi once again carried the day. The beauty queen is just something else. She again deserved all the marks, the judges, well known for their frugal nature when it comes to awarding marks, gave her. Her performance sparked up an argument between judges Julius Agwu and Dayo Liadi. Liadi who as usual was looking for an avenue to tell the world that he lives and eats dance, decided to pick some holes in Omowunmi’s near perfect outing.

Agwu would not agree with the points he raised, a heated argument ensued. Lawal was diplomatic in his assessment of Omowunmi’’s performance, but his argument tilted to Agwu’s side. Fuji superstar Pasuma Wonder according to Lawal is becoming a better dancer by the day. His stiffness is gradually giving way to some form of flexibility and he does not fail to entertain anytime he is on stage. Screen goddess Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde for the first time in many weeks, rolled on the floor, spurned and twisted to the delight of all.

Another celebrity would still have to leave the show this Sunday as eviction will from now on, hold every week till the contest climaxes this month. Viewers have started voting via SMS for their favorite celebrities to remain in the show, the votes would be added to the judges’ marks, and this will determine who stays or leaves the Skye Bank’s Celebrity Takes 2 show.
