In the year 2001, the world stood still in salute to the all conquering effort of the first ever black woman to emerge Miss World.

The feat which was accomplished in far away South Africa, saw Miss Agbani Darego, representing Nigeria from the stable of the Silverbird Production Limited clinching the title after dazzling the world with her beauty and intelligence.

Although no other Nigerian has achieved that, Silverbird production Limited has in the past scored several firsts in other world class beauty pageants.

The Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN 2005), Omowunmi Akinnifesi brought back memories of the South Africa conquest when she emerged Miss Tourism International in far away Uraine.

And only recently Byran Okwara Silverbird’s company’s first representative at the Mr World Competition showed class when he emerged as one of the top eight finishers.

Come December 2, 2007 and in Sanya China, Nigeria through Silverbird Productions limited representative and the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria 2007 Munachi Abii, will attempt to wrestle the crown from the heads of about  90 queens that will be vying for the honour.

Powered by Lufthansa the German Airline, Momo Couture, the Imo state born beauty queen says she is determined to make a bold statement at this year’s edition of the Miss World pageant.

In an interview she granted our reporter moments before jetting off abroad, Lufthansa the German Airline, Munachi said she was doing all she could, to follow in the foot steps of Miss Agbani Darego.

“I had routines. I had to go to the gym to keep fit, because it’s a different competition out there. This is not going to be like the MBGN. And to keep me trim also, I had to work with some very credible choreographers, dietitians, etc, “she disclosed.

On the talent hunt competition, the MBGN 2007 would rather keep that wrapped up. Said she “I would like to keep it African. The typical thing to do is to sing or play a guitar, but I intend to do something different and you’ll see it when its time. I do not want to let the cat out of the bag just yet.”

Also speaking on the chances of  Munachi, the President, Silverbird Entertainment limited, Mr Guy Murray - Bruce said, “Munachi has been given all the support to go and succeed, and we believe she’d deliver. We want every Nigerian to pray for her success.”

Munachi left Nigeria on November 30 and she is expected to arrive Sanya China to join other contestants in camp. Her trip was made possible through the sponsorship effort of Momo Couture her designer, The Silverbird Group and Lufthansa the German airline The final of the Miss World beauty pageant this year holds on December 2.
