Presedents Yar'Adua's mother, Hajia Dada Habib Yar’Adua, led some family members to the private residence of the former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, in Abeokuta, to pay him a thank you visit.
The president’s mother, who was accompanied by the wife of late Alhaji Sheu Musa Yar’Adua, Binta Yar’Adua, Alhaji Aliyu Gafa Yar’Adua and Major Abdul Azeez Yar’Adua, described the visit as a way of showing appreciation to Obasanjo “We appreciate Chief Obasanjo’s efforts towards my son’s victory. The bond between the Obasanjos and Yar’Aduas will continue to be strenghtened", she said. However, Obasanjo, who received them in company with the governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, said, “It was God that put Yar’Adua there, not me.” Discuss this at the Forum (Registration Required).
