NSL Supports the Next Nigerian Super Model |

In a bid to change the lives of young Nigerian girls, the National Sports Lottery( NSL,) the company with a passion for changing lives has thrown its weight behind the Next Nigeria Super Model competition billed to hold this Saturday, 22 September 2007. of the event.
Sixteen girls will contest for the Next Nigeria Super model contest which is the first in the series, is designed to encompass a Tv reality show and contest. For NSL the show has been tagged ‘Catwalk for the Voiceless’ as it will not only involve changing lives and status of the models but also, a means of providing for the less privileged in the society. According to Funke Kuti, Group Head; Corporate Social Responsibility and Reputation Management of NSL as part of the show, there will be a segment for talks on the need of sensitizing the public about the plight of the less privilege “We also intend to raise funds for the voiceless and we are not just picking one aspect of the society, the ‘voiceless’ in this case include widows, orphans, battered wives retarded kids etc.” she says. There will also be a catwalk segment by orphans, from a particular orphanage as part of the On how they intend to raise money at the show, Funke says: “We do not intend to collect cash show. from anyone. What we intend to do is have at a list of at least three orphanages or less privilege centres, with a list of items that they need, attached with the names of the consultants. We could have them placed on seats or give them to people as they go in for the show. So whatever anyone is giving will go through the consultants. She added that: “the show is an appropriate avenue to get people to help because it is not every time, you can get that caliber of people under one roof”. Speaking on the support for the model contest she informs: “According to Mrs Joan Okorodudu who is the brain behind the contest, the idea for the model contest is to provide better lives of the girls who are been underpaid but, overused. We saw the proposal and thought it was a brilliant idea and an opportunity of changing the lives of these girls, which is what the company stands for.
