In a bid to provide uncommon service to its customers, Oando Marketing, one of Nigeria’s leading oil marketing retailer, has launched the first ever Back Loading operation in Nigeria, at the Federal Lighter Terminal (FLT) Onne, Rivers State.

The service, tagged “Oando Sea Station” will enable Oando to supply Automotive Gas Oil, otherwise known as Diesel to ships that operate on the high seas. Also, barges will be able to get supply of AGO to boost their operations.

Upstream Oil companies that have offshore operations will now be able to take advantage of “Oando Sea Station” to ensure regular supply of AGO to run their rigs and other operational equipments without worrying about sourcing their fuel requirements.

The facility, which operates at world class Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Standards, is expected to provide fuel to Shipping Companies, Marine Transport Companies and Upstream operating companies whilst also delivering excellent logistics support that ensures product delivery to several customers’ locations along the coastline of the Niger Delta region and to deep water drilling rigs.

Benefits that will accrue to customers include a reliable and excellent logistics system that will take care of safe delivery of guaranteed ‘on spec’ products to customers in large quantities at competitive prices.

Highlighting the benefits of the Onne back loading facility, The Chief Marketing Officer, Commercial, Mr. Tsola Barrow stated that The Onne facility is endowed with a customer - centric service, tailored to meet the needs of consistent fuel supply to its customers at the coastline.

His words “The service is operated to high standards in terms of reliability, consistency, accuracy, flexibility and safety to meet the needs of our customers. The facility would go a long way in boosting the company’s service offerings to customers.”

Also commenting on the development, Chief Operating Officer, Oando Marketing, Mr. Ayo Ajose-Adeogun, states “At the beginning 2007, we made it clear that our strategy for the year was to continually add value to customers, thereby increasing our market share in attractive segments.

Oando Marketing will continue to develop products and services that improve the operating efficiencies of our customers. In our business, a superior consumer experience is essential and our belief is that the Oando Sea Station will impact positively on the fortunes of Oando, thus enhancing our profit generation capability. This is yet another initiative that improves the consistency of our shareholder value delivery in a highly competitive market” he enthused.
