The Nigeria Fashion Week kicked off on Monday 19th of August 2007, at the Shell Hall of the Muson centre Lagos. With two shows daily (morning and evening) and about ten indigenous designers, strutting their stuff on the runway, this year’s show is obviously bigger and better, as promised by the organisers.
 Evening Collection by Blokes'N'Divas
The three day fashion, trade fair /exhibition, began with a fashion show at noon, with five designers showcasing over a hundred and fifty designs, all creatively carved from African prints. Each designer had their own individual signature. First up were collections from the elegant model cum designer; Theodora. Though her clothes were slamming the runway for the first time, she got the audience attention with her slinky dresses, and up-beat mens collection. Others in this category were House of Henri, Zhukki Afro and Jolie makeovers, all displaying collections that were distinctive and fresh. Kano based Ore Apparels opened the second show, an exclusive collection all made from the African wax; stylish patches on long A- line skirts, Batik corsets, aso-oke bou-bou and more.
 Beach wear collection by Nobel Afrik
With fitted handmade T-shirts atop, colorful adire skirts, ankara long dresses, Ishy announced his designs which were eclectic cuts that could go from runway to real way. Next was Nobel Afrik, whose models made a dramatic entrance, flaunting his unique line of beach wear built on simplicity, yet emphasizing the beauty of today’s woman. Lastly, the duo of Blokes n Diva, breathed life to the chiffon fabric which they transformed to colourful batiks, some mixed and matched with other fabrics and crafted into sassy evening outfits. At the exhibition stand, on display were a wide range of fashion related products, from ladies and mens wear, casual wears and sports wears to designer label collections, co-ordinates, leather as well as other fashion accessories. Other participants at the fair, include; textile manufacturers, producers of Jewelries, Shoes, Bags, Headgears, Make-up artists, Cosmetics, Hair and Skin products, Car dealers, Telephone companies, Buyers, Retailers and Wholesalers.
 Designs by Ore Apparels Designers lined up for today’s event (Tuesday) included one of Nigeria’s brightest musicians Sound Sultan; of Naija Ninja, Tesslo Concepts, Vendrika, Onidiri, and Rolina. Others for evening are Zizi, Mutez mode, Ogodor, Make Me, and Karen. The high point of the show was the unveiling of the collections by Sound Sultan’s Naija Ninja. He took the fashion industry by storm with his frenzy collection.
 Designes by Ishy Couture The show comes to an end with on Wednesday the 22nd, and designers billed to showcase in this category include, fast rising House of Jola, Modela, Fadan, Bosan fashion and Soss Collection. Now in its 4th year, The Nigeria Fashion Week, organised by Legendary Gold Limited, has continuously provided the platform for Nigeria designers to rediscover themselves and make success of their creative talents. It has been able to re-orient Nigerian designers to look only inward for inspiration by using locally made fabrics and accessories to produce clothing items that have global appeal.
