PZ CUSSONS launches Carex Antiseptic Range of Products |

In order to deliver quality Antiseptic care products for the Nigerian family PZ CUSSONS, manufacturers of high quality products in Nigeria,. Recently launched her Carex Antiseptic Range of beauty Products in Lagos. Although launched into the Nigerian market in 2004 as a beauty soap, identifying other product areas, according the manufacturers, was necessary to ensure that Carex remains relevant to the Nigerian market and consumer.
Speaking at the Media launch, which was witnessed by journalists and industry actors, Andrea Pengelly, PZ Cussons General Manager, (Health and Beauty) said the Range of products was formulated to provide lasting protection against germs that cause skin infections. “Carex formulation contains Antimicrobial agents (Triclosan) that can prevent bacterial growth thereby prevent transmission of micro-organisms that cause skin diseases,” she explained. In her presentation, the Marketing Manager-Nigerian Brands, Titilola Igri-Offor stated that the products were packaged for the family, health conscious women and men who desire smooth and healthy looking skin. She further explained that, “Carex Range is specifically formulated to gently moisturize for soft, radiant and beautiful skin. It is enriched with Aloe Vera to soothe and keep your skin beautiful.” According to her, the range includes: Carex Antiseptic Cream, Carex Antiseptic Powder, Carex Antiseptic Jelly and Carex Antiseptic Liquid. These, she said, were formulated to protect the skin, leaving it healthy, silky, smooth and beautiful, adding, “Aloe Vera and other carefully selected soothing agents are included to ensure users get desired beautiful and non-oily appearance.” She said Carex Antiseptic Liquid, which would hit Nigerian markets soon, would come in two variants: Caring and Powerful Variants. She added that, Caring variant which has lime deodorant would “take care of all personal hygiene, while Powerful variant is formulated to kill 99.9 percent germs at all times.” PZ Cussons, she said, introduced the Carex range in response to market need. A consumer research carried out by the company revealed that consumers desired a total range of beauty products contained in one brand package. The Carex brand which was first introduced as soap has received wide consumer acceptance in the market place and as a result created a huge demand for a complete range from the brand. Peter Candlish, Marketing Director, (Soap and Detergent) expressed optimism that the product would do well in the market as they do not have competing brands. “The new range is different from other products in the market because of the inclusion of antiseptic agents. The combination of proven Antiseptic agents guarantees users’ healthy, silky, non-itchy and blemish free skin. The basic goal is to provide family protection against germs and infections”, he said.
