Blessing Bassey wins NMA 2007 |

Standing at 5.9ft tall, with statistics 37, 34 and 25, dark skinned Blessing Bassey moved from absolute obscurity to Supermodel status, when she emerged winner of the Nigeria Model Awards 2007. The International Relations Undergraduate of the University of Lagos beat fourteen other contestants to emerge victorious at the keenly contested event, which held last Saturday at the Muson Center Lagos.
 From left, Lexy Mojo-Eyes, Project Mager Legendary Gold limited, Ify Jones, Blessin Bassy and Robert Knap of Ford The show which was witnessed by personalities from the fashion, entertainment and business world, brought the creative instincts of some indigenous designers to the fore, as the girls made four appearances in collections of Blokes and Divas, House of J’OLA and Ore apparel and first appearance in Noble Hair pieces collections.
As is usual with the competition, Blessing was hand picked by head scout for Ford Models New York, Robert Knapp, who revealed that her success was based on her total carriage on the runway and “she has the X-Factor which is required at international level” he said
She goes to New York in January 2008 for the Ford Supermodel of the World contest.
