In a bid to move up to International Supermodel status,  fifteen young aspiring models will be slugging it out on the makeshift runway of the Muson Centre Lagos, venue of the grand finale of Nigeria Model Awards, 2007, which holds this Saturday, July 28.

The fifteen finalists, who were selected from an earlier screening process, will vie for the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the world finals of the Ford Supermodel of the World contest billed to take place in New York in January 2008 where they stand the chance of winning $250,000, $150,000 & $100,000 worth of modelling contract for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd  positions respectively or being signed on by Ford Models and other model scouts usually in attendance at the world finals.

According to the organizers, the contest  is aimed at empowering Nigerian girls between the ages of 16-24 to build a career in the international modelling industry.

The annual NMA Awards is organized by Legendary Gold Limited, in conjunction with Ford Super Model, and sponsorship consideration for 2007 contest is provided by Kenya Airways, DHL, Digiprints and Ovation International.
