The rains are here once again, it’s that time of the year when people get drenched from the heavy downpours, especially in the evening after the close of work. Women of all ages love beautiful hairstyles and they get the inspiration from the array of great hairstyles that abound. But hairstyles have their time, separate ingredients for separate seasons.

With the rains now upon us, hairstyles should be properly taken care of to avoid odour and breakage. It is important to know that there are specific hairstyles that will weather the rains, otherwise you will find your hair damp and unkempt all the time.

The mishandling of hair this period, can make your crowning glory to become the worst feature of your looks. Thus, to maintain your crowning glory or to achieve such a goal, you need to take proper care of your hair this season.

To avoid the stress of running to the salon every time this period, the best hairstyle will be braids. Now, there are a thousand and one braids styles to choose from: a million braids, basket weave, Ghana braids, our traditional ‘shuku’, made with hair attachment, the Bob Marley braids etc. Whatever braids you choose, make sure it is one that suits the shape of your face.

Braids are never out of fashion, they are  easier to manage and when wet, you can always dry them naturally without a hand-dryer.

To clean your braids dab  cotton wool with mentholated spirit and clean the calp with it.  This will not only ensure that your braids does not itch you, but will also prevent it from emitting foul smell a by-product of sweat and rain.

While you can choose to wear your braids for as long as you wish, the frequency of hair wash should also be increased, it is advisable to wash and restyle your hair at least every two weeks.

It is not a good period to wear  your natural hair for too long  but if you choose to, ensure that your shower cap comes handy whenever it pours, to stop your hair from going limp. Never brush your hair when it is wet, as this only leads to  breakage. Use a wide toothed comb to disentangle your hair after shampoo.

Weave-on is not the best for the rains, it will be wise to take a break from wearing weave-on as the rains can damage them, it can stretch a curly weave-on and remove its original luster and shine, making it useless, even after the rains.

Finally, whatever hairstyle you choose to do this season, keep your hairstyles simple and easy. Elaborate hairstyles are more difficult to manage while limp damp hair does not look good with them. And make your shower cap your best beauty item for as long as the season lasts.

spelling mistakes
I am really greatful for the advice given in this article, yet I would like to advice that the author makes some effort to eliminate spelling mistakes. For example this sentence \'fowl smell a bye product of sweat and rain.\' contains two mistakes - which I\'m sure are apparent now. The advice is/was enriching, but such things as spelling mistakes may distract readers. Thank you.
