Here is a chance for aspiring models to achieve the dreams as Sleek Nigeria, the brand name in exquisite make-up and hair extensions, is set to chose a face for its brand, as it flags off the search for Face of Sleek 2009. The objective being to select one girl! whose face will represent the brand in Nigeria and internationally.
It represents a nationwide model search in which the ultimate winner will represent the Sleek campaign for the year, attached with an international modelling contact and her face splashed in billboards world over. Speaking at a press briefing last week in Lagos, the Chief Executive of Sleek Nigeria Mrs Ebele Ugochukwu said the criteria for selection is not just striking, physical features but includes character, heart, talent, confidence and a strong sense of self; all of which radiate and is reflected on the model's outward appearance. On the possibility of achieving these, Mrs Ugochukwu stated that the girls will showcase their talent at an informal screening exercise where they will have the opportunity of expressing themselves in different ways ”Two weeks before the final the girls will be housed and observed for character trait. There will be a psychologist in the house who will observe the contestants closely in this regard” she said.
The model search activities will span over a five month period cutting across the entire country. At the end, a winner emerges and is declared the Face of Sleek Nigeria 2009.
Speaking on the credibility of the contest, Mrs Ugochukwu said the FOSN is trying to put together a platform where young girls can follow their dreams “therefore there will not be any form of corruption or favoritism in the selection of girls. We will have international credible judges and everything will be done above board and professionally. We hope to celebrate African beauty in the real light.”
Prizes for the winner include a $15,000 modeling contract and a brand new car.
The runners up are not left out, with consolation prizes of $10,000 and $5,000 for the first and second runner up respectively and many other exciting prizes.
According to Mrs Ugochukwu, the forms can be obtained at any branch of sleek studio or access bank. Distribution of forms continues until the end of October when the regional elimination will commence: dates as follows; Abuja: Tuesday 27th October 2009, Port Harcourt Friday 30th October2009 and Lagos; Tuesday 10th November 2009
There will be a pre show event in which the final 20 contestants will be selected by a panel of judges. The grand finale will be held at a gala event on the 291" of November 2009.
