Wande Coal The hype and glamour that surrounded the release of Wande Coal's debut album cannot be over-emphasized. The young music star was finally debuting after years of working with numerous other artistes, understandably, music fans were expecting a near masterpiece giving the experience he has garnered working with other superstars.
Whether he has lived up to his billing or not with the album is up to you but this peice will try to introduce the album to you in the best possible...you can draw any conclusions you like from it. The album contains 13 tracks in addition to 3 bonus tracks including featuring...expectedly, the Mo Hits crew. 'I Know You Like It' opens the album...just the contemporary kind of music that can get the attention of today's youth. It, as usual, dwells on a man/woman relationship. "I know you like it, I know you like the way I give it to you babe.... The second track is the average club hit featuring Nigeria's hottest musician, D'Banj. Y'all can guess right what to expect, lyrics wise, from the kokomaster, just the usual 'flirtitous' song. Track number 3 has a more general appeal as it talks about social issues that affect every Tom, Dick and Harry. Wande Coal went on to ask the expensive question, "Se Na Like This e go dey dey" meaning will the situation remain the same forever? The usual flirting business continues in the fourth track titled...Kiss your hands featuring Ikechukwu. D'Banj also features in 'Confused' coming at number 5..."I'm D'Banj" it started. The track's about some girl getting him or them confused, hypnotised, mesmerized. Give thanks no matter the situation, that's what Wande tells us in his 6th track. The following track, 'Now it's all gone' is an RnB piece that will get anyone's attention, D'Prince's contribution adds a little glamour to it. 'Bumper to Bumper' needs no introduction as it has been on top of music charts across the country since whenever. 'Who born the maga' which follows next is a street jam which features K-Switch. In it, Wande says no one can stop his shine. In like manner is the next track, 'That's wots up'. Wande Coal enlisted the help of Dr. Sid in Bananas while Taboo is already a fan favourite on radio stations across the country. Jehovah, the last of the tracks is a kinda tribute to our God...might have something to do with his church background. The bonus tracks include Ololufe that won him the last Hip Hop World's Next Rated Award, Ten Ten and My Grind both done by Mo Hits All Stars. Now, what do you think?
