From the red carpet reception to the beautifully decorated hall and gaily dressed guests, who thronged the Expo Hall of the Eko Hotel and Suites Lagos, last Saturday, it was evident that the night will be a long night of fun, entertainment and glitz.
 Florence Ita-giwa It was the second Red Ball and Benefit concert in honour of the Foundation for Children of Bakassi, a non governmental organization set up by Senator Florence Ita Giwa, to help build accommodation for less privileged children from Bakassi. It was a night of glamour and an all red affair, as personalities from the political and entertainment industry, led by the Imo state governor, Mr Ikedi Ohakim, Chief Rochas Okorocha who was the Chairman of the occasion, turned out in glamorous red outfit, with the men adding a touch of red on their outfit. The COLOUR theme was well interpreted by the founder Ita-Giwa, who wore a beautiful red ball gown with embroidery detail.
The Red Ball Benefit concert was geared towards creating awareness about the plight of the Bakassi displaced children with a view to raising funds to providing excellent education and decent living for them. The 2007 concert which was the 2nd, in two years was according to Senator Ita-Giwa “to say thank you to supporters of last year’s donors and for them to see how far their money have gone in providing welfare for the children.”
Guests at the Red Ball 
The event which was well attended was packed with lots of musical performances from some of Nigeria’s best musical acts including; the Ijo-ya maestro, Wired MC and KC Presh e.t.c the fashion show featured collections by Nikki Khiran. Quote this article on your site | Print | E-mail
