Portsmouth influential player, Nwankwo Kanu says the arrival of Black Stars forward, Sulley Muntari to Fratton Park would boost the club's chances of challenging for an European slot in the next football season, kicking off August 11.
Muntari has joined Pompey on a five year contract from Italian side, Udinese, in a move that coach Harry Redknapp said would change the fortunes of the team and Kanu, who was a star attraction in the club's Premiership bid last season, could not but agree that the Ghanaian's acquisition was a major coup by the manager. He said, "a lot of people at Portsmouth didn't know what he can do with the ball but when he played at the Kanu Heart Foundation match people had their mouths open. "He was always hitting some great balls with that left foot and each time, it was always precise and a beauty to watch. I think he will be a success in the Premiership." On his Premiership future, Kanu said it is still a matter under consideration, although he hinted that things would be resolved one way or another within the next week. "I haven't met with the club yet to discuss the offer on the table, but I believe we are going to do that very soon in the next one week or so."
