Heartland of Owerri continued its great form in the Globacom Premier League with a 1-0 win away at Sunshine Stars of Akure though Bayelsa United continue to lead on goal difference.

The Yenagoa club recorded the biggest margin of the weekend courtesy of a 3-1 win at home to Gombe United while Heartland extended its unbeaten streak in the league to seven matches with the win in Akure.

Both Bayelsa and Heartland have 21 points at the top of the table and are followed by Warri Wolves with 20 points after the Delta side's controversial 1-0 win over Akwa United as the lone goal appeared to be offside.

Newly promoted Kaduna United come in fourth place with 19 points ahead of Wikki Tourists on goal difference after being held to a goalless draw by Enyimba of Aba in Kaduna while Wikki defeated Sharks of Port-Harcourt 1-0 in Bauchi.

In other results, champions Kano Pillars rose to 8th on 17 points between Sharks in 7th and Rangers in 9th with a 1-0 win over bottom of the table JUTH of Jos, Rangers fell 1-0 at Gateway in Abeokuta while Niger Tornadoes recorded same lone goal win at home to Ocean Boys and FC Abuja was held to a goalless draw by Nasarawa United in a relegation battle.

The Premier League continues this midweek with a clash of the league's pacesetter's when Bayelsa United go to Owerri to face Heartland on Wednesday while Enyimba host Gateway in Ilorin and champions Pillars visit Akwa United in some of the fixtures.
