Onyeamaechi (top-right) and Kojo (bottom-middle) have been voted out of the academy.
There were tears, heartbreak and an out pouring of love, as this week’s contestant left the MTN Project Fame West Africa Academy, and this was just from the faculty and judges. The fans, friends, and viewers had all of that and more as the Academy lost the two students with the lowest audience votes on the night.
Composition eviction was all that was on the books as the 7 final students of MTN Project Fame West Africa Academy went on the stage to sing for survival as the show hit the 8th week.
The students waxed, molded and some even did remixes as they looked to sell their special compositions to the public, judges and faculty, and special guest judge, OJB Jezerel was not immune to the charms of the students as he complimented them unendingly on their foresight and their extraordinary performances. In the audience were mother’s, brothers, sisters and in Kojo’s case, his pastor Pastor Solomon Oware.
The day unfortunately had to come to a close and the tally was drawn to show which 5 students had the highest audience votes and which two will have to go home. The results were as follows:
Nii Bisola Annette Praise And Iyanya.
The 2 with the least audience votes were:
Kojo and Onyemaechi, and the audience felt the impact, as the students cried and hugged in goodbye, we all know that this is the beginning of new and exciting things for them.

A minute with Kojo and Onyemaechi
FWA – Hello, how are you both?
Kojo/ Onyemaechi – We’re good, relaxed.
PFWA – So you’re not disappointed in your eviction?
Kojo – No, I believe that God has a plan for everything, and while this did not end in the way I wished, there is another plan in store for me.
Onyemaechi – No, I’m not disappointed I feel that there is still much more for me to do.
PFWA – Now that you are out of the Academy what are you going to do?
Onyeamaechi – Well music is my life, so I will look to pursue music full time,
Kojo – It has to be music, that is what I live for, its my passion.
PFWA – What or who do you think you will miss the most?
Kojo – I will miss everybody and everything, I will miss the faculty and the judges and just learning in the Academy.
PFWA – Is that all?
Kojo – (laugh) I bet you thought I’d say I miss Bisola the most. Bisola is a wonderful person, she’s a character and I’ve learnt a log from her.
PFWA – And you Onyemaechi?
Onyemaechi – I’ll miss everybody as well, particularly the judges. They always offered supportive criticism and always knew how to let me know what was wrong without making it negative. (laugh) I guess I also miss not winning!!
PFWA – So you won’t miss anybody specifically?
Onyemaechi – I would have missed Ijeoma, but she left the Academy before me. When I first saw everybody for the first time, and her in particular, I was like, Ok then the Academy don find some fine girls for this show.
PFWA – So you are eager to see her?
Onyemaechi – I was going to ask if you had her phone number, so that I could call her to come to my eviction party! She is the one person I want to see there more than anybody else!! PFWA – Do you have anything to say to MTN, Ultima and all the other people responsible for the show?
Kojo/ Onyemaechi – God Bless You!! You have changed our lives and you have been an inspiration.
PFWA – What are your plans now?
Onyemaechi – I’d want to record immediately, and definitely want to do a musical collaboration with Naeto C and MI because I think they are what the Nigerian music industry today is all about.
Kojo – I want to do a musical collaboration with the other students in the Academy, but other than that, I want to work on my own music and use what I’ve learnt do develop myself.
PFWA – And if you had won the money, what would you have done with it?
Kojo – Since music is my life, I would have bought musical instruments, and opened a studio.
Onyemaechi – I would have given some to my mother to set her up in a business and spent the rest on my music.
PFWA – Thank you for spending the time with us, it was enlightening. On a final note what do you want to say to supporters of the remaining 5 students?
Kojo/ Onyemaechi – Vote, Vote, Vote. All of the students are talented, but if you don’t vote for them, and vote wisely, your favorite student might get evicted, so its in you hands.
