Nigeria's female national team this afternoon in Equitorial Guinea failed to get going at the 6th African Women's Championship following a goalless draw with Tunisia in her second Group B match at the tournament.
The disappointing draw leaves the Super Falcons in second place with just two points, four points behind South Africa that leads the group with six maximum points after the Bayana Bayana shocked Ghana's Black Queens in their second match.
The Black Queens have one point with the Tunisians as both make up the rear, a situation that will see the shock exit of Ghana or the bigger shock exit of the Super Falcons after the final round of group matches.
Nigeria must now defeat the already qualified South Africa on November 22 in Baka to ensure a place in the last four, where Falcons are likely to face hosts Equitorial Guinea that also leads with six maximum points in Group A.
Ghana meanwhile must defeat Tunisia on November 22 in Malabo and hope South Africa avoids defeat against the Falcons to book a place in the semi-finals; consequently ensuring a country other than Nigeria wins the AWC.
