Hayatou, Adamu to Return Unopposed in CAF Exec. |

Long time President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Issa Hayatou will remain at the helm of Africa's football governing body after being unopposed in the running for President as candidatures for positions in the Executive Committee of CAF were made known in Douala, Cameroun.
The Camerounian, who has been at the head of CAF since 1988, will therefore remain since he is unopposed ahead of elections to be held during the CAF Congress in Lagos, Nigeria in February 2009. It will see Hayatou serve four more years at CAF till 2013.
Also to return unopposed in the CAF Executive Committee is Nigeria's Dr. Amos Adamu as representative of West B while Amadou Diakité of Mali also returns unopposed for West A. Dr. Adamu was recently redeployed from the National Sports Commission.
While at the helm in CAF, Hayatou has suceeded to increase the number of African countries at the FIFA World Cup to five and will see South Africa host the first World Cup to be staged on African soil.
