The highlight of this football weekend in Europe comes from the Italian Serie A where Ayo Makinwa's high riding SS Lazio take on bitter archrivals AS Roma in the Rome derby at the Stadio Olimpico.
Though technically the home side, Roma enter one of the fiercest encounters in football on the back foot following a poor start to the season which has left the Giallorossi just a point off the relegation zone.
Lazio however is on a high thanks to its best start to a season in a long while, sitting on top for a few weeks before a slight dip in form saw it lose pace though wins in its last two matches has put the Biancoceleste back in form.
That makes Lazio the slight favourites going into the match lying just two points off the pace and motivated more than before to win a first Scudetto since 2000. Roma though is no push-around and would dearly cherish getting its season on a firm track with a win over their local rivals.
Leaders Inter Milan meanwhile will be out to re-open a gap at the top on its tricky trip to Palermo on Saturday night; Juventus last night moved level on points with Jose Mourinho's side with a 4-1 thumping of Genoa.
Third placed AC Milan however will be hoping for an Inter slip when it welcomes Chievo Verona to the San Siro while Christian Obodo's Udinese in sixth place travel to Cagliari on Sunday.
