Enyimba ended a run of three games without a win with a 1-0 win over rivals Rangers of Enugu in a rescheduled Globacom Premier League match played at the Ilorin Township Stadium.
The win lifts the Peoples' Elephants, banished to Ilorin indefinitely, to ninth on the table, within four points of Premier League pacesetters Zamfara United and Kaduna United with two outstanding matches still to play.
The win comes as the first for Austin Eguavoen as Enyimba head coach barely two days after former Belgian tactician Maurice Cooreman left the Aba club for Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko.
Enyimba will next play Bayelsa United, also in Ilorin, in a Globacom Premier League encounter on Sunday.
