Project Fame: Benedicta evicted

It is inevitable that even with the best of intentions, the students at the MTN Project Fame Academy will continue to be evicted until the one Steps Into Stardom, so it is with a heavy heart that we say good bye to this week’s evictee Benedicta, but that is a story for later on.

The MTN Project Fame Eviction show began as usual with high emotion as the students of the Academy due to popular demand gave another rendition of the Jackson, Ritchie , Quincy Jones produced super song ‘We are the World’.

This joyful message to the world set the tempo of the show as the students on probation, Dorcas, Benedicta, Praise and Kojo got on stage to strut their stuff and convince the faculty, public and their fellow students of their validity to remain in the Academy.

First on stage was Praise and Dorcas whose performance connection on stage had choreographer Jennifer Ogbher gob smacked. They were followed on stage by Kojo who reenacted his classic love duet with Annette, then came Inyanya and Benedicta who together made beautiful angelic music with the evergreen ‘I’m your Angel’.

After the tension of facing the judges, faculty, other students, the in house audience and the over 20 million viewers around West Africa, decision time came all too quickly.

Praise, Benedicta, Kojo and Dorcas were called on stage and the process of eviction began.

Dorcas, was saved by the viewing public, which made her mother jump up with joy and got tears flowing, Kojo was saved by the faculty, an exception that made him so happy all he could do was give thanks to God. Then came the deciding vote, which can only be made by the students of the Academy, and they made their choice.

When the votes were tallied, the person who was saved by the other students was Praise and the person who was out of the Academy was Benedicta.

Benny as she is called at the Academy took it with the grace and elegance that has become the by word in describing her, and with her distinctive Aretha Franklin type voice, hers is a star that will continue to shine brightly for a very long time.

Stepping into Stardom was never so much fun as Benedicta stepped into La Cachette to celebrate her time in the MTN Project Fame Academy.

With a stunning outfit, and determined stride that marked her entrance, Benedicta lit up the room as her fans shouted, and praised her efforts at the Academy and her success, but as MTN Project Fame does not do things on the down low, the excitement was high as Benedicta stepped on stage to sing a selection of her best hits from the Academy.

After the weeks of excitement, learning and stardom all Benny could do at the end of the night was thank everyone for their support and to expect great things from her.

	So sad to see her evicted Benny and Maechi are simply the best. So sad to see her evicted. Sweetie, this is not the end of the road for you. You will go beyond the sky. You are just too much; a star that will forever shine brightly. Benny, your voice lifted me up and I praised all your efforts at the Academy. More awaits you in future and you will certain make us proud.

	kojo is the best kojo is just like our own lovely TIMI. he's got a lovely and natural voice that trips every one. if he doesn't win, then i would belive that the program is all fake or probably those in charge of the votes are playing dirty cos kojo is the best .
