Get your Etisalat SIM at......

Etisalat has finally launched its GSM service in Nigeria. I mean they are actually selling SIM cards. They have just proved us skeptics wrong about the concern that they might not be ready for business in Nigeria.

For those who were able to reserve their numbers, you can pick up your SIM cards at the Mega Plaza and the Silverbird Galleria in victoria island (If you live in Lagos). Those not so lucky to reserve can buy a SIM card for N200. You still get to choose.... the sales person will give you about 10 SIMs to choose from.

I think there's also a sales point at the Big Treat in Festac. Pick a recent copy of any of the daily newspapers for a full list. Hey, Etisalat guys, send a full list of sales points and I'll publish it free.

Activating your line after you pick up your SIM is a breeze. You get two text messages, one welcoming you to the Etisalat network and another one notifying of N50 free credit. I advise you buy credit at the sale point. Etisalat recharge cards are not all over the place yet.
