The device works by plugging it into the USB 2.0 port of your desktop or laptop. You can view and record free-to-air high quality DVB-S TV shows. VideoMate S500 supports high-speed satellite internet service, DiSEqC 1.2, Transport Stream and MPEG-2 digital TV recording to get the best experience in digital TV reception.

According to Compro Technology, VideoMate S500 TV Box is bundled the powerful digital TV watch/record software, ComproDTV 2. It offers many features such as digital satellite TV watching, channel surfing, timeshifting, single and multiple still frame capture, custom channel order creating and S4(hibernation)/S3(standby) mode power up scheduled recording. It also features advanced PIP/POP function which provides users to watch live TV and playback video files at once. The convenient Video Desktop function sets up your live TV screen as wallpaper mode, and can customize the brightness, hue, saturation, contrast, sharpness, and TV audio in each TV channel.

In addition, VideoMate S500 TV Box also includes ComproDVD 2 for DVD watching, CD/MP3 listening, and Ulead PhotoExplorer 8.5 SE for digital media management. With VideoMate S500 TV Box, you can easily enjoy watching digital satellite TV whether you own a desktop or laptop. It is currently only compatible with Windows PC.
