The visit, which was meant to provide fans and friends of the talented individuals the opportunity to meet with their favourite young stars, also provided the contestants the chance of soliciting for votes from viewers across the city.
Dorcas, Sopriye, Nii and Caroline, arrived at the University of Lagos (Unilag) Akoka, to applause, curiosity and a great deal of attention from the press and onlookers. Like all good students, their first stop, was to the administrative building, Senate House to make the right kind of introductions. The Arrival This introduction was to no other than the students of Unilag and listeners in the surrounding via Unilag FM, radio station par excellence set on the 7th floor of Senate House, where they were interviewed by Kamal, star DJ and fan of MTN Project Fame West Africa. Dorcas, Sopriye, Nii and Caroline then set to work on charming the student and listeners of Unilag FM, by pleading, laughing and even singing a few songs to get their votes. After the on air session, MTN Project Fame West Africa were welcomed by the Station Coordinator Mrs Bisi King Paul, who was graciously introduced to the students by MTN Extra Cool Representative Kelvin Orifa Next up was party time as the MTN Project Fame West Africa students got up on stage at the Unilag Sports Complex to shouts of ‘Ghana Girl’, Nii Nii Nii, Soppy Bobo, and Caro’, but they did not let this obvious adulation of their fans go to their head as they sang their probation songs, begged for votes and continued to charm potential voters. Autograph signing..... After much singing, dancing, interviewing and press conferences, commenced the autograph signing session, and it was out of this world. Excitement, delirium and determination are an understatement as many Great Akokites looked to get a souvenir of the wonderful event by means of a signed autograph from the students on probation.
