Saturday night in Berlin Germany will witness another big fight in the heavyweight boxing division as Vitali Klitschko of Ukraine comes up against world champion Samuel "the Nigerian Nightmare" Peter with the World Boxing Council belt at stake.
The fight will see Vitali, older of the Klitschko brothers, enter the ring for the first time in four years for a professional fight and try to prevent Peter from getting his chance to face Wladimir Klitschko and unify the world titles of the heavyweight division.
Vitali's eligibility for the fight is as a result of the Ukrainian being holder of the WBC world title when he retired in 2005; a title he won in a fight with South African Corrie Sanders in 2004 after the belt was left vacant following Lennox Lewis' retirement.
Vitali has a fight record of 35 wins and two losses; one to Lewis for the WBC title by technical knock-out, with 34 of the wins ending in knock-outs to give Vitali the highest knock-out percentage of any heavyweight champion at 92% and at 6`7½”, he is a formidable opponent for Peter.
Peter meanwhile has an equally sterling record with the 28 year old having a knock-out percentage of 74% following knock-out wins in 24 of his 30 wins and just one loss ironically to Vitali's brother Wladimir in 2005 who is holder of the IBF, WBO and IBO title belts.
The Nigerian Nightmare would recover from that defeat; by a disputed unanimous decision, to become WBC champion after beating Oleg Maskaev by technical knock-out (TKO) earlier this year.
Peter however is renowned for having one of the hardest punches in the history of the heavyweight division which according to many pundits compensates for his slow movement in the ring.
