AMBO set to commence season 4

The Amstel Malta Box Officce reality TV show to begin its fourth edition this november. To this end, the show's website has been opened to those who might want to be part of it since September 29, 2008.
Popularly called AMBO, the show is about giving movie star wannabes a chance to showcase their talents whilst receiving some kind of tutoring to butress whatever 'movieing' skills they might have.

Sponsored by Amstel Malta, a low-sugar malt drink in Nigeria, the show has already produced movie stars like Azizat Sadiq who played the lead role in 'Sitanda' which won five awards at the 2006 African Movie Academy Awards. The 2006 winner was named the best upcoming actor in 2007 after playing the lead role in 'White Waters' a movie that won 4 awards at the same AMAA.

The registration for this year's edition would be on until the 12th of October before the regional auditions begin in Benin on the 20th with the final auditions billed to hold in Lagos from November 10 to 13.

What's on offer for the winner? It's not much...just a brand new car, a 'miserly' sum of N2.5 million and a lead role in a top Nollywood movie...you see it's not much.

If you think you have what it takes to be Nigeria's next movie star, you better go ahead and register immediately as the website, www.amstelmaltaboxoffice.com has already received about 9,000 applications in the first week.

The show proper is billed to kickoff on the 17th of November with the finalists moving into the AMBO house and it would be aired on Television...so, watch out.
