Enyimba can all but kiss its quest for a third CAF Champions League crown goodbye after being held to a goalless draw at home by Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
The Aba Elephants now must go to intimidating Cairo International Stadium and avoid defeat, at least, against the Red Devils which is chasing a record sixth title in Africa's elite club competition.
The task becomes all the more diificult with Enyimba losing its last four away matches in the competition while Al Ahly is unbeaten at home and went through the group stages unbeaten on the road.
In the other semi-final played in Harare, Cameroun's Cotonsport put one foot into the Champions League final after a 1-0 win over its hosts FC Dynamos of Zimbabwe.
Dynamos must now travel to Cameroun and defeat Cotonsport; unbeaten at home in this season's competition, by at least a goal to qualify for the final against Al Ahly or Enyimba.
The second leg matches will hold on the weekend of October 18.
