In about two weeks from now, five of naija's best musical artistes would compete with five other african artistes for the Best African Act award in this year's edition of the Music of Black Origin Awards.
No one has to tell you again that nigerian music is fast becoming the stronghold of African music...I mean, having five of ten nominations across the whole of Africa is not a joke.
D'banj, 9ice, Faze, Asa and P-Square would all be hoping to outwit one another first and then beat the other five nominees to the award.
It is no news that these five artistes have been the peak of the nigerian music industry in the outgoing year. Deservedly too, four of them have won one or the other award in the country.
Calling Asa's debut album a success is probably an understatement. D'banj's name has not been missing on the music charts across Naija for most of the year. Faze's year has been awesome with a trip to the United States, his current hit single has not been an underdog on the music scene.
P-Square has sure been a delight to music fans in Nigeria and indeed across africa, most notable about them is the quality of their music videos. 9ice has been Naija music's revelation of the year and his year has been capped with a performance at Nelson Mandela's birthday in London.
The nigerians would be competing with Hip Hop Pantsula, Jozi,Jua Cali, Magic System and Wahu.
The MOBO awards would be held on the 15th of October at Wembley Arena in London...
