Nigeria's U-20 national team on Saturday in Abuja defeated visiting Sudan 5-0 in the second round first leg of the qualifiers for the African Youth Championships in Rwanda.

The win for Ladan Bosso's Flying Eagles almost makes the second leg on the second weekend of October in Khartoum as good as inconsequential with the Sudanese needing to win 6-0 to defeat Nigeria on aggregate.

In another qualifier played on Saturday, Cameroun was held to a goalless draw in Yaounde by Congo. Nigeria reached the second round with a 3-0 aggregate win over Senegal.
