Bayern Loses as Bremen Edges Ogbuke Obasi's Hoffenheim

Bayern Munich fell to its second league defeat in as many weeks with a shock 1-0 loss away to Hannover 96 while Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi's TSG Hoffenheim was edged by the odd goal in a nine goal thriller.

The loss at Hannover leaves the Bavarians further from the leading pack of the Bundesliga currently led by Macaulay Chrisantus' Hamburg that defeated Borussia Monchengladbach 1-0 in the AOL Arena.

Hamburg is followed by Bayer Leverkusen a point behind on 12 points following a thrilling 3-2 away win at Vfl Bochum with Leverkusen almost throwing away a 3-0 lead.

The excitement reached feverish heights at the game between Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim with Bremen leading 4-1 by the 30th minute before a dramatic comeback from the 36th minute saw the visitors draw level at 4-4.

M. Ozil, scorer of the opening goal however ensured Bremen moved up to third with 11 points with the winning goal seven minutes from time. The loss drops Hoffenheim to sixth place.

Other games saw Schalke lose 1-0 to lowly Energie Cottbus and drop to fourth on 11 points while Borussia Dortmund now occupies fifth spot with a 3-0 win over VfB Stuttgart.

Wolfsburg meanwhile have an opportunity to rise to second at most should it defeat Karlsruhe on Sunday. Sunday's other match sees Frankfurt hosting Arminia Bielefeld.
