9ice's Alapomeji Records have come out to clear the air surrounding the recent non-appearance of 9ice at a show held on Sept 19, 2008 in Dublin. Various stories were in the media giving various reasons for the happening. Some even took 9ice to the cleaners saying he was becoming 'too arrogant'.

But according to a statement recently released by Alapomeji records, those stories could not have been further from the truth.

The statement, contrary to Krystal Promotions' claims, stated that the non-appearance was not due to any fault of 9ice's but of the organizers of the show who refused to make available all the necessary documents to facilitate 9ice's transit to Dublin.

"We are stating factually, that 9ice did everything he had to do to make sure the show would hold but the fault lies in the hands of the organizers and his lack of appearance was due to their negligence and breach of our contract, a breach that could not be overlooked by us at Alapomeji Records."

Alapomeji Records claim that the organizers, after failing to make available visas for 9ice and his crew's legitimate entry into Dublin,  offered to 'smuggle' him to Dublin through London which they did not find suitable for the artiste's profile.

"The organizers and their liaisons stated that 9ice should not worry about the visa and that there is an illegal entry way from London into Dublin 9ice can follow. We blatantly refused, as we were not willing to put our artist image or welfare at risk because of their negligence and lack of honesty from the start."

The statement also urged his fans in Dublin to bear with them as "9ice's main concern are his fans and he is highly disappointed and pained that he could not make it to a show he was looking forward to. "We at Alapomeji hope you the fans of 9ice in Dublin understand our stance on this issue and we look forward to someday having 9ice in Dublin with you, performing live on stage".

Alapomeji also tendered their unreserved apologies for the no-show and urged other organizers not to expect 9ice to cut corners for or with them.

"A note to other organizers, 9ice is an artist just like other artists around the world and exceptions cannot be made in terms of following the laws of the country. We will not cut corners at the risk of our artist. At Alapomeji we believe in things being done the proper way and no short cuts being made".

Nice one for 9ice
It was a decisive decision that 9ice had taken. Its good instead of allowing his image to be dragged into the mud. He has a brighter prospect, so; keep it up boy 9ice!

mr
1st of,b4 publishing this story...did u guyz look into krystal promotionz side of the story???im a big fan of 9ice but when things like this happens,we cant be too quick to judge.9ice and krystal promotions must have had some sort of agreement before it comes to this level, and since they(9ice camp)knw that there was no proper travelling arrangement in place, its is very easy for them to come out of the contract and put their foot on ground by saying until they have necessary arrangement before they can value the contract...they shouldnt have recieved payment in the 1st place, that way all blames will go to krystal promotions, but right now,i am very convinced that it is a mutual agreement btwn 9ice and krystal promotions...all of these will be due to lack of professionalism btwn both parties...this is a very sensitive matter that can not be overlooked, both parties should either settle in court or out of court....

i wanna hear Krystal Promotionz take on
was 9ice denied a visa? from your story, they had problems processing his entry to dublin...and you didnt mention how far away from the event it was.

lets assume, they wanted to fly 9ice in "illegally" and 9ice refused. nobody obtains a visa from the embassy in one day.. so they knew well in advance that they were going to be "smuggled" in - whatever that means!!!...and if he declined why didn't he make a refund and apologise to fans that he wouldn't be available..why? as far as i'm concerned, 9ice did wrong. his descision not to perform was premeditated and he is unapologetic. why did he wait for all hell to break loose to come up with this"smuggling" story?..

from what i've gathered from facebook and other social networking sites, show promoters in dublin had capitalized on 9ices hot demand in the area and faked a 9ice event, fooling fans into believing that the rave of the moment singer would be available for a show just to sell tickets!!!..not krystal promotionz..they wanted to bring in the real deal..

they proved to fans that 9ice was coming via 9ice doing a "drop", they engaged in a major publicity campaign, paid 9ice upfront... i mean, i doesn't sound like an outfit that'll end up planning to "smuggle" him in!!

i think the story is one-sided. please get in touch with Krystal Promotions and get their side of the story as well..cos i read some very revealing truths on http://www.naijamusicbiz.wordpress.com and after all being said and done, all finger's point to 9ice's disregard for his fans in Dublin. i even heard that some artistes called K16 recorded a diss track exclusively for 9ice on behalf of all Nigerian artistes in dublin and his aggrieved fans.

9ice pls try to be 9nice
my guy,I want you to know that we dont know who Alapomeji and Kryztal are. you brought out Alapomeji's name out to public. Dont be decived. You may call it illegal entry or whatever from London to Dublin, you are still within same area. You should have the love of your people (fans) in your heart not respect for your producer. I stay in both side (London & Dublin). To be lasted in this industry 9ice,pls be honest to people and caution your Alapomeji. Court is the not the best for you to treat this issue. Let us wait and see when you finish with Kryztal in court then you can come back and take all of us your disapointed fans to court to forgive you. My friend, please return whatever you have taken from Kryztal and come out with your Alapomeji to media and apologise to us. Kryztal tried to bring joy to our heart in Ireland but they failed and come out and appologise professionally. Nice, stop being decieve by your local producer and do what is right. For me,i have to put your issue behind me and face my "Jama Jama". Naija, see you soon at home. Ola

9ICE continue tobe who you are.
First, this is for Olly ray or whatever your name is: from your write up, i knew right away that you are not responsible and your life is in Jeopardy. Also Olu you are the same. I am sure you guys did not get to UK in a legitimate way that's why you didn't see anything wrong in someone coming in through a wrong way.

If you guys don't know Law. at least try to read if you can. Don't just come to public and talk when everyone is talking.
I'm sure you are not worthy to be 9ice fans.

9ice has done what he suppose to do. Don't listen to whatever anyone say. Always try to do things in a legitimate way. Nigeria is in this situation we are today because of anything goes attitude.
We love you and keep living by the good laws and rules.

Arrant nonsense!
Olly Ray and Olu are you guys kidding me that there is nothing wrong in coming into Dublin illegally through UK? You sure must be kidding me and this is arrant nonsense. It definitely show that you guys aint living straight and criminals. I live in Dublin myself and i do travel to UK with valid UK visa. So u mean for a young artist who is this well known and doing well for himself nothing is wrong with messing up himself just to satisfy some guys in Dublin? Fans my foot! U two need to get a life and learn to live a decent life.
If the story is true then i commend 9ice for taking his stand, he has nothing to loose for turning down an offer to tanish his image and has much to gain as other responsible promoters will be willing to bring him in in a more decent and legal way in the nearest future.
