Bremen Crush Bayern in Bundesliga |

German league champions Bayern Munich was torn to shreds by Werder Bremen at home in the Allianz Arena, leaving the Bavarians three points behind Schalke who lead the league in the meantime on 11 points after a 1-0 win over Frankfurt.
Bayern were favourites going into the top bill encounter but it was Bremen that came out smoking with Markus Rosenberg opening the floodgate in the 30th minute before Naldo made it 2-0 on the dot of half time.
The rout continued in the second half with Mesut Ozil and former Bayern striker Claudio Pizarro, on loan from Chelsea, scoring in the space of 5 minutes before Rosenberg rounded things up with his second and Bremen's fifth.
Substitute Tim Borowski however put some respect to the scoreline with a brace in the last 19 minutes to end the encounter 5-2, a result that let Bremen leapfrog its adversary into seventh place with Bayern down in eighth.
In other matches played on Saturday, bottom of the table Energie Cottbus was held to a 1-1 draw by Vfl Bochum, Hertha Berlin picked a 1-0 win at Borussia Monchengladbach and Arminia Bielefeld won 2-0 over Ishiaku Manasseh's FC Koln.
Schalke meanwhile went top of the table following a lone goal win over Frankfurt thanks to a own goal minutes before half time. The Royal Blues is one point ahead of Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi's second placed TSG Hoffenheim that thrashed Borussia Dortmund 4-1 on Sunday.
Other matches on Sunday saw 2007 champions Stuttgart rise to third on 10 points as well following a 3-1 win at home to Karlsruhe while previous leaders Hamburg fell to fourth on 10 points after a 3-0 bashing at Wolfsburg, now sixth on nine points.
On Friday night meanwhile, Bayer Leverkusen moved up to fifth place on nine points with an impressive 4-0 win over Hannover 96.
