Williams Sisters to Visit Nigeria

Come November 2008, Nigeria and Nigerians will have the privilege of having tennis champions Venus and Serena Williams on a three-day visit to the country after a long wait.

The sisters will be in Lagos from November 10 to 12 and will among other activities, play an exhibition match; their first ever in Africa, and host a tennis clinic for aspiring tennis players that abound in the country.

The sisters, who won the women's doubles event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, will also have a talk with thousands of youths according to the organiser of the visit, Godwin Kienka.

Another member of the organising committee, Paul Bassey, expressed his joy at the coming of the Williams sisters and assured that it is for real as arrangements for the visit have been in the pipelines for the last two months to ensure a hitch-free visit.
