Female football in the world takes a new turn when the maiden edition of the FIFA U-17 World Cup takes center stage from later this year from October 28 to November 16 in New Zealand.
Nigeria's Flamingos find themselves in a tricky Group D which also has Brazil, South Korea and England while Africa's other representatives, Ghana compete in Group B alongside European champions Germany, Asian champions North Korea and CONCACAF runner-up Costa Rica.
Group A sees host New Zealand take on Canada, Colombia and Denmark while Group C has CONCACAF champions and favourites the United States pitched with France, Paraguay and Japan.
To reach the world stage, Nigeria overcame Cameroun home and away but won at home to Ghana before earning a draw in the second leg. Ghana meanwhile came from the dead to book a place in the finals with a final day victory in Yaounde over Cameroun.
Flamingos begin their campaign against South Korea in Wellington on October 30 from 4a.m Nigerian time (3p.m New Zealand time) before taking on England on November 2 at 2a.m and finally the Samba Girls of Brazil on November 5 from 8a.m.
