Dr. Olufunmilayo bags award as Ayoola delivers keynote address |

 Dr. Olufunmilayo Olopade The Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, Honourable Justice Emmanuel Ayoola is to deliver the key note address at the annual dinner of the Nigerian Lawyers Association Merit Award in New York City, USA.
Professor of Medicine, Olufunmilayo Olopade a leading authority in cancer genetics with the University of Chicago is to receive the Nigerian Lawyers Association merit award, at the annual award dinner, on September 20 2008. The Honouree, Dr. Olufunmilayo is one of the leading authorities on cancer genetics and cancer risk assessment and an expert on individualized treatment for breast cancer. She collaborates with cancer specialists and other medical practitioners in Nigeria in the prevention and treatment of cancer. She was instrumental to the establishment of the first fully functional immunohistochemistry laboratory at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria and she is involved in the creation of a Centre of Excellence in Breast Imaging in Ibadan, Nigeria. The Keynote Speaker, Justice E. Ayoola, a judge of the Appeals Chamber of the Special Court for Sierra Leone, was prior to his appointment as the Chairman of the ICPC in 2005, a Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, (1998 – 2003) and the Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission of Nigeria (2003-2005). Justice Ayoola has served in various other judicial capacities, including; Justice of the court of Appeal of the Gambia (1980-1983), Chief Justice of the Gambia (1983-1992), President of the Court of Appeals of Seychelles, Justice of the court of Appeal of Nigeria (1992-1998) and President of the special Court of Sierra Leone (2004-2005). He was also the vice president of the World Judges Association (1991) and Chairman of the Working Committee on Law Revision of the Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2000. He is a recipient of the Nigerian Honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger and the Gambian Honour of the Commander of the National Order of Republic of the Gambia.
