The Senate Committee on Sports has submitted a damning report on Sports administration in the country, indicting every other administrator in the country except the Director General of the National Sports Commission, Dr. Amos Adamu.

According to the report submitted to the Upper House of the National Assembly, sports in Nigeria should be run only by the technocrats themselves for the proper development of sports in Nigeria.

The report also had strong words for the Nigeria Football Federation Chairman Sani Lulu, describing him as timid, incompetent and lacking in administrative qualities to run football among other things.

The Committee also stated that the Nigeria Football Federation will not receive any funding from the Government next year due to the name change which rendered the NFF illegal as only the Nigeria Football Association is recognised.

The NFF still had one more bashing from the Senate Committee's report which also stated that the Federation should cede the appointment and payment of referees to the Nigeria Football League.

Finally, the report implored on the Government to invest much more funds into sports as the present situation sees meagre funds being disbursed for sports, which does not complement the passion for sports in Nigeria.
