US Open: Serena Powers into Final |

Serena Williams early on Saturday morning in New York reached her first US Open final in six years with a crushing 6-2, 6-3 semi-final win over sixth seed Dinara Safina of Russia.
The younger Williams; having beat sister Venus in the last eight, will now face second seed Jelena Jankovic who beat Olympic gold medallist Elena Dementieva 6-4, 6-4 to reach her maiden final at Flushing Meadows, or any Grand Slam.
Serena will be comepting for a second title in New York on Saturday night with her first coming against Venus back in 2002, which also was the last time at least an American competed for the American Grand Slam.
However the weather conditions has seen the women's final, and the men's second semi-final between Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray scheduled for Sunday as well, disrupted for a few hours with Murray leading the world number one by two sets to love.
The match is scehduled to resume at 9p.m BST with Nadal leading the third set 3-2 while the women's final between Serena Williams and Jelena Jankovic is expected to follow afterwards.
Meanwhile in the first semi-final, Roger Federer defeated world number three Novak Djokovic in four sets to keep his place at the number two spot for the moment. Defeat to Djokovic could have seen the Serb replace Federer as world number two.
