US Open: Federer, Djokovic Reach Last Eight |

Roger Federer late on Tuesday night made the quarterfinal of the US Open with a gruelling five set win over Igor Andreev of Russia and was joined by Novak Djokovic and an impressive Andy Roddick of the United States.
Federer needed three and half hours to defeat the hard hitting Russian 6-7, 7-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 and set up a clash with qualifier Gilles Muller who ended the run of another Russian Nikolay Davydenko.
Third seed Djokovic was also made to work hard for a place in the quarterfinal by Spaniard Tommy Robredo with the Serb going through 4-6 , 6-2 , 6-3 , 5-7 , 6-3 to set up a match with Roddick who eased past Fernando Gonzalez in straight sets.
In the women's draw, second seed Jelena Jankovic reached the last four with a 6-1, 6-4 win over Austrain Sybille Bammer and will meet Olympic gold medallist Elena Dementieva of Russia who defeated Patty Schnyder 6-2 , 6-3.
