Enyimba's chances of making the semi-final of the CAF Champions League took a major dent with a 3-0 bashing in the hands of TP Mazembe on Sunday evening in Lubumbashi.
Previously leading Group B, the Aba Elephants were outplayed by their Congolese counterparts with Mputu leading TP with two goals, including a penalty just after the hour mark.
The loss leaves Group B wide open following Al Hilal's 1-0 loss at Coton Sport on Saturday as the Camerounian club now top with seven points, one ahead of Enyimba with six points. Al Hilal slipped down to third with five points while TP Mazembe now have four points.
Group A however has seen Al Ahly almost through to the semi-final after a 1-0 win over FC Dynamos in Zimbabwe was complemented with the 3-0 loss of Zamalek at ASEC Mimosas.
With Al Ahly needing just a point from the last two games to reach the last four, the second semi-final spot is wide open with ASEC now second in the group with five points ahead of Zamalek with four and Dynamos with three points.
