With the Football Challenge with FASH reaching its climax, the Final 15 'ballers faced their last and biggest test of how far they have come when they confronted the boys from the famed Pepsi Football Academy.
The Academy is known for producing some of Nigeria's finest talents since its inception, including silver medallist with Dream Team IV at the just concluded Olympics, Osaze Odemwingie and Chelsea of England midfielder John Mikel Obi.
Agsinst the Fash FC 'ballers though, the Pepsi players found their match it seemed as the game, played on the practice pitch of the National Stadium in Surulere, was dominated by Fash FC. The reality show players had the best chances to win the match but Pepsi Academy keeper Sikiru Mohammed was on hand to keep the game goalless.
With no goals scored after 90 minutes of action, penalty shoot-outs ensued with the drama raised up a few notches as all five kickers from both teams scored their penalties.
The nerves however started to crack when Charles Ochorga saw his effort in the sudden death penalties saved by Mohammed only for the next player from the Pepsi Academy to send his effort wide and keep Fash FC in the tie.
With Aminu Yahaya putting Fash FC back in the lead at 6-5, previously evicted goalkeeper Frank Godwin became hero with his save to win the tie for Fash FC and probably save his face from the circumstances of his exit from the Challenge.
The Fash FC 'ballers previously defeated Lucky Babes 3-0 before playing out a gritty goalless draw with Olorogun Babes. Next up for the coaches to deal with is the tough task of picking who will emerge as the Most Valuable Player of the Challenge.
