He may have not won gold when Dream team Iv was beaten in far away Beijing by Argentina in the Olympic football final but Chinedu Ogbuke Obasi's German club, Hoffenheim went top of the Bundesliga with a 1-0 win later on Saturday.
League defending champions Bayern Munich meanwhile settled for a 1-1 draw at rivals Borussia Dortmund thanks to Tim Borowski's goal 15 minutes from time. The Bavarians played most of the match with 10 men after Mark van Bommel was sent off halfway through the first half.
Saturday's other big match ended in a draw as well, 1-1 between Schalke 04 and Werder Bremen while Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen got their first wins in the league, 2-1 and 2-0 against Karlsruhe and Stuttgart respectively.
Saturday's other game saw Hertha Berlin draw 1-1 at home to Arminia Bielefeld while on Friday night, Energie Cottbus picked up a point with a goalless draw at Hannover 96.
