Despite a general lack of activities on the international football front, the Super Eagles of Nigeria dropped one place on the global and African football rankings for August.
Previously fourth in Africa and 26th in the world, the Super Eagles were upturned by the Elephants of Cote D'Ivoire who climbed three places to 25th with Sweden sandwiched between the Africans in 26th.
Cameroun meanwhile dropped two spots to 15th in the world but maintained their status as Africa's best team, followed by Ghana up one place to 19th in the world, then Egypt up three places to 21st.
Brazil meanwhile dropped to an all time low of sixth in the world, dropping two places and replaced by the Netherlands (Holland) in fourth and Croatia in fifth place, climbing one and two places respectively.
European champions Spain maintained their status as world number one ahead of runners-up Germany who swapped third for second place with Italy. Argentina is seventh while Russia makes up the top 10, replacing France who went down two places to 12th.
