Glamour and victory at the Fashion and Style Awards

This year’s Fashion and Style Awards held last Sunday, at the Muson Center Lagos brought together superstar designers, models, movie stars and other luminaries for one exciting night of fashion, music and entertainment in Lagos , the heart of the fashion industry. It witnessed the most colourful turnout of these society personalties, both young and old, most of whom adhered to the Zebra black and white, with a touch of red dress code dictate. They came in all sorts of design, some pretty glamorous, others outrightly outlandish, all in a bid to outdo each other.

Organized by the City People Media group, the annual awards, according to Mr Seye Kehinde, Publisher/ Editor in Chief of City People magazine, is meant to recognize the outstanding contributions made to the Nigerian fashion industry by individuals from all areas of the industry.“To celebrate those who have contributed to the growth and development of the fashion
industry.”

This year's event was the 3rd in the series, it also marked the 4th anniversary of the Fashion and Style Digest. It was hosted by actress Stella Damasus it featured, exclusive ethnic designs by Amede and Iconola and spiced up with musical performance by Pasuma Wonder, while comedian Omobaba was on hand with his rib cracking jokes.

Awards were given for excellence in fashion designing, accessories, make-up, hair as well as remarkable accomplishments in journalism .Vanguard’s Style, Editor Mrs Remi Diagbare emerged Fashion Editor of the year, while Miss Yemisi Abah clinched the Fashion Writer of the year, 2008, in appreciation of their remarkable contributions to the fashion industry.
