Two time CAF Champions League winners Enyimba climbed to second place in their group following a hard earned 2-0 win over Coton Sports of Cameroun at the Aba Township Stadium.
The first half was destined to finish goalless until Ezenwa Otorogwu latched onto a loose ball in the Coton area to give the Aba Elephants the lead.
The points were then sealed two minutes into the second half through Stephen Worgu who got onto a defence splitting pass and clinically placed the ball past the Camerounians keeper for his 11th goal in this season's competition to remain top scorer.
The win leaves Enyimba a point behind Group B leaders Al-Hilal of Sudan that has four points following a goalless draw against TP Mazembe of DR Congo.
Meanwhile in Group A, Ah-Ahly of Egypt held on to the skin of its hair when forcing hosts ASEC Mimosas to a goalless draw in Abidjan with ASEC hitting the woodwork in the second half and having an effort go just wide of the Egyptians goal.
The draw however saw the five time Champions League winners remain on top with four points following a 1-0 win for fellow Egyptians Zamalek in Cairo over Dynamos of Zimbabwe; both clubs are a point behind Al-Ahly with three points.
