The return of 201 plots revoked during the administration of Mallam Nasir El-Rufai between 2004 and 2007 has been approved by Federal Capital Territory Administration Minister Aliyu Modibbo Umar.

According to Modibbo Umar, the return of the plots was in line with the FCTA's resolove to due process and the rule of law, adding that most ills done to Nigerians during the land revocation would be addressed.

He went on to say the previously revoked lands were mostly in areas where there were no infrastructure at the time and the guidelines of development in the Abuja Master Plan requires that plots should be developed only when the infrastructure is present.

Some of the beneficiaries of the plot return include Chief Alex Ibru, Air Vice Marshall Hamza Abdullahi (rtd) and General Chris Garba (rtd) among others. It can be recalled that 23 diplomatic plots were returned to foreign missions along with some 2000 plots earlier this year.
