Senate President David Mark has warned that Nigeria would give same treatment at its Embassy to foreigners that Nigerian travellers receive at various Embassies unless Nigerians are treated with respect.

He made this known while receiving the Secretary General of the Belgian Parliament Robert Myttanaere, asking him to help in the removal of some humiliating restricions attached to the issuance of visas to Nigerians and Nigerian legislators whom he said also find difficulty getting visas even on official assignments.

Mark was however quick to stress Nigeria's preparedness to share ideas with Belgium on ways to make bilateral relations better.

In his response, Myttanaere said Belgium is prepared to assist Nigeria in its proposed constitutional reforms since with an older democracy, Belgium is capable of imparting some of her experiences to help younger democracies to develop.
